Southern Youth Theatre Ensemble (SYTE) is a valued innovative and sustainable Youth Theatre Ensemble committed to pursuing the principles of inclusion and best practice in a collaborative and professional environment.

 

SYTE conducts theatre skill and performance workshops for young people aged 4—26 years who live in the fastest growing area of Adelaide – Onkaparinga.

SYTE runs workshops at The Arts Centre at Port Noarlunga on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Workshops in Yankalilla run at the Yankalilla Youth Centre on Wednesdays.

Job Description

 

Southern Youth Theatre Ensemble is a not-for-profit youth theatre organisation with the aim of producing a number of theatre productions and workshops for young people aged between 4 and 26.

The company is a vital part of the local youth and cultural landscape in the southern region and places a high value on the role it plays in the community.

The office is located in Port Noarlunga, 42 Km south from the Adelaide CBD.

 

The Executive Officer is primarily responsible for all aspects of the management of SYTE ‘s operations including staff supervision, finance management and implementing SYTE’s 2010/2013 Strategic Business Plan. It is expected that the Executive Officer will liaise extensively with cognate, local youth networks and remain apprised of current trends in the youth arts and community sector; as such the successful incumbent will need to be available to work outside of business hours as required.

This position is currently 0.8 and will suit an individual with excellent communication, organisation, team and time management skills. The Executive Officer will become a key member of the youth and cultural networks of the South, and have a clear appreciation of SYTE’s place in the region. They will use this profile and understanding to engage young people, artists, audiences, community partners and stakeholders alike in the next phase of SYTE’s growth.
